Production log week 6

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
From the previous entry in which i made i have made further progress within my documentary in terms of the finalization of the documentary, during this week I had gained all of the final documentary interviews in which i needed in terms of a youth individual telling his own personal story of being unemployed, what he has done to combat it in his own attempt and how it has affected him, his story gave the documentary an element of what the youth are doing whilst also providing an element of what the government are doing even if they are not doing as much as they could be doing This allowed me to gain the final element and area of my documentary in terms of the filming element this has allowed me to finish off the filming element to allow me to progress in the final element in terms of the editing, during this week i had began editing the final project on final cut bringing all of the clips in which i have filmed together, however during this week i found during the editing that i had to re do some shots and add some voice overs i had used two days of this week in order to finalize the shots in terms of redoing the shots which came out bad in quality as well as gaining the voice overs through the shots in which needed the voice over shots to explain and proceed the documentary to the audience after the two days i had gained all of the final shots needed for the documentary and continued editing until the end of the week which was the final deadline i ensured that the documentary was done to the highest of my ability in terms of making it look visually appealing and making the scenes and shots flow smoothly from one scene to the other making it more appealing and eye catching for the audience, This was the final week in terms of working on the editing and i feel as if it could have gone a whole lot better as i feel my final piece and production was not of the highest level of quality as i could have done.

production log week 5

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
From the previous entry in which i made i have made further progress within my documentary in terms of gaining the initial forms of filming in terms of further interviews, during last weeks filming the ability to gain vox pops from members of the public was unsuccessful, this was due to the time in which I had asked being that it was early morning resulting in it being rush hour where is people were too busy to answer questions. Due to this issue i have used this week to gain both an interview with the head of year as well as gain interviews with some members of the public in the form of vox pops in the attempt to gain the opening shot of the documentary for the opinion and point of view of the audience. With the vox pops i was successful in attaining and gaining the views of the members of public ensuring that with the answers they were able to incorporate the question alongside the answer in order to set the topic of the question without the use of graphics, with this filming i felt as if i was successful and was able to get the answers from people in which were relevant for the topic for example with one of the vox pops I had used a member of the public in which was in child care in the form of a community center allowing me to gain perspective from a viable source of the youth. The second interview in which i had gained during this week was the interview with the head of year which allowed me to gain the perspective of what the youth were physically doing in terms of additional education and vocational courses allowing me to add to the documentary in terms of the side of the youth adding the second necessary aspect and side to the documentary. With these interviews i ensured that they were both short to the point and with a range of cut away shots in order to split up the interviews ensuring that it is visually appealing.

Production log week 4

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
From the previous entry in which i made i have made further progress within my documentary in terms of gaining the initial forms of filming, during this week I had planned out the filming of the Adecco interview in terms of the shots within the interview as well as the many forms of establishing and panning shots needed to set up and establish the location as well as the panning shots to break up the interview to ensure that it is fresh and visually appealing for the audience. During this week after writing down and planning the various shots and filming schedule I had gone out to the first location in order to gain my first interview with the manager of Adecco within Romford, within the duration of filming i made sure to get all of the pre interview shots including the establishing shot of the area outside of the business Adecco in order to set the location for the audience as well as to open the documentary. Alongside gaining the establishing shots I had also gained the vox pops from passers by members of the public this helped me to introduce the documentary topic through the establishing shot and the vox pop the answers given allow the audience and viewers to get a small idea of the topic and focus point. After having gained the outside establishing shots and vox pop filming I had then gained the interview from within Adecco with Viddy giving her and the government perspective of what they are doing and what is being done to both combat and reduce the figure of youth unemployment within the UK the interview allows the audience to gain a range of facts and perspectives from both sides within this interview because the answers given to the audience is not filled with bias but is made sure to be balanced and fair from both sides with minimum amount of bias.

production log week 3

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
From the previous entry in which i made i have made further progress within my documentary in terms of finalising the interviews in which i had gained on paper, at first the interviews which i had gained were all on paper and were the potential forms of people in which i had initially wanted however during this week i was able to confirm and guarantee the interview with the manager of Adecco successfully booking an appointment and time to meet with her in order to complete and film the interview. The interview was organised on a Tuesday in which i went to during school time within the Adecco business location where i had agreed to meet Viddy, the location was easy to find and this guarantee helped me to ensure that my documentary was progressing forward and moving in the direction i wanted it to go. Another form of progress in which I had made during this week was finalising and gaining a interview date and time with the head of year to gain the interview element of the youths point of view of what they are doing, within this confirmation I had confirmed the information in which i wanted from her and went over the questions with her so she can have an inkling of what information to give without a heavy bias in the eyes of myself as the interviewer giving a healthy balance to both myself as an interviewer as well as for the documentary. The confirmation of times and dates for the interview confirmed for me and ensured that the documentary in itself was progressing and going in the right direction, the timings of the interview and the dates had also provided me with a small window of an idea of how long the filming would take for me to gain and allowed me to see if i was going to meet and keep in time with the time table in which i had given myself to ensure a suitable time to edit and gain any other back up shots if needed,
